DMCA Takedown Procedure

Last updated: 2026-05-19

Reel respects the intellectual property rights of others. Under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)) and analogous notice-and-takedown regimes elsewhere, you may submit a notice asking us to remove an indexed work that infringes your copyright.

How to file a notice

Email [email protected] with the following — failing to include any of these elements may delay or invalidate your notice:

1. Identification of the work. The URL on this site (e.g. https://myav.ai/v/<code>) and a description sufficient to locate it. 2. Evidence of ownership. A statement that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on the owner's behalf, with a brief description of your right (e.g. studio of record, exclusive licensee). 3. Contact information. Your full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and reply-to email. 4. Good-faith statement. "I have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law." 5. Accuracy statement under penalty of perjury. "The information in this notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury I am the owner or am authorised to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed." 6. Signature. Physical or electronic signature of the rights holder or authorised agent.

Our response

We action verified notices within 24 hours. On takedown we:

  • soft-delete the catalogue entry (the page returns HTTP 410 Gone)
  • purge the corresponding cache tag (Cache-Tag: video:<code>) on the Cloudflare edge so segments stop serving within ~30 seconds globally
  • email you confirmation
  • record the action in our audit log

Counter-notice

If you believe a takedown was filed in error, email [email protected] with a counter-notice containing:

  • the identification of the removed work
  • a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification
  • your name, address, telephone number, and consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if outside the United States, of any judicial district where Reel may be found)
  • your signature

We will forward valid counter-notices to the original claimant and restore the work within 10–14 business days unless the claimant files a court action.

Repeat-infringer policy

Accounts that submit multiple repeat-infringing uploads (face images used to create face-swap derivatives of copyrighted works) will be terminated.
